Description | 1. Bicine is a zwitterionic biological buffer. 2. Bicine is a versatile buffer. Its applicationsinclude enzyme reaction buffers and electrophoresis buffers. Bicine interferes with the BCA and Lowry protein assay. Ferricyanide slowly oxidized bicine. In addition, its strong binding of copper ions may be disturbing. The working concentration lasts from 3 to 100mM. 3. It is a suitable buffer for low temperature biochemical work. Used in the preparation of stable substrate solution for serum guanase determination. Also as a spacer in plasma protein fractionation with Sephadex by isotachophoresis. 4. Bicine is used in a variety of molecular biology applications such as protein resolution, protein crystallation and SDS-PAGE. |
