The RX5000a refractometer is the latest high-precision Abbe / laboratory refractometer. It replaces old-style manual Abbe and digital refractometers and uses precision optics to extend the repeatability and accuracy of refractive index measurements to the fifth decimal place (+/-0.00005).

The RX5000a refractometer offers FAST, precise, accurate, repeatable measurements in the laboratory or production area. The time needed per measurement is less than five seconds.

A new Peltier device eliminates the need for an external water bath by automatically controlling sample temperature. Measurements can be set to start automatically when the sample reaches a target temperature. The RX5000a can display a top and bottom limit-bar for the target control range.

The RX5000a has a large backlit LCD display and an easy-to-understand user interface that is controlled by four dynamic function keys. The screen prompts the user with an explanation for each key. Further, the RX5000a is completely user programmable using any standard personal computer. It may be programmed with up to 30 additional user-defined scales.
