GRNzol A⁺ Reagent

GRNzolA⁺ Reagent is designed to isolate high quality total RNA from cell and tissue samples. It maintains the integrity of RNA while disrupting cells and dissolving cell components during sample homogenization.

After homogenizing the sample with GRNzolA⁺ Reagent, chloroform is added, and the homogenate is allowed to separate into a clear upper aqueous phase (containing RNA), an interphase, and a lower organic phase. RNA is precipitated from the aqueous phase with isopropanol. DNA is precipitated from the interphase layer with ethanol. Protein is precipitated from the organic phase by isopropanol precipitation.

GRNzolA⁺ Reagent can be applied to isolate RNA from both small amount of samples (50-100 mg tissue or 5×10⁶ cells) and large amount of samples (≥1 g tissue or ≥10⁷ cells) of human, animal, plant or bacteria, with in one hour. GRNzolA⁺ Reagent allows for simultaneous processing of alarge numberof samples. DNA and protein contamination is eliminated thoroughly from RNA products. Isolated RNA can be used in Northern Blot, Dot Blot, poly(A) selection, in vitro translation, RNase protection assay and molecular cloning.

GRNzolA⁺ Reagent is designed as a yellow color liquid, in order to facilitate distinguishing aqueous phase from organic phase.
