Labgas Hydrogen Generators provide the laboratories with high purity hydrogen without hazards. Impurities in a chromatographer's gas supply can result in excessive noise, baseline drift, ghost peaks, column bleed and reduced column life. The Labgas hydrogen generators supply gas at 99.99999% purity which is sufficiently high to yield a base line stability comparable to that achieved with the highest purity cylinder gas available. Labgas Hydrogen Generators eliminate the risks, inconvenience and high cost associated with the high pressure cylinder gas.

Hydrogen generators
The working principle is based on water electrolycis to oxygen and hydrogen.
The method we use is the most modern on the market, where instead of an alkali bath we use a solid polymer electrolyte.

Clean water is directed to the anode side of the electrolyser cell.

The polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM electrolyte) has been coated both sides with an active coating.

The water directed to the anode coating will disperse thanks to the catalyst and electric current into oxygen and hydrogen atoms.

Two oxygen atoms combine at the anode to form one oxygen molecule, and exit from the system with the circulating water. The hydrogen travels in protone form through the membrane to the cation side, where two hydrogen protons combine to form one hydrogen molecule. This hydrogen is extremely pure, the only impurities are ppb level oxygen and moisture.
